That's Funny! (Monday Moments #7)

A group of six friends were having a night in. They were meeting after 4 solid years. They had everything to make the night fun and memorable. They got horror movies, junk food, games, drinks and so on. Finally, it was time to play their favourite game; Pictionary. All of them drew horribly but somehow just after two-three strokes of the pencil, they'd guess it right. It was an all-play round. There were three teams consisting of two each; one would draw and the other would guess. (Or at least try to guess.) The word was 'crocodile'. Now, they thought that it was quite simple. Setting the timer, they started scribbling. Soon one team guessed it right. The third team's guesser finally heard what the word was. He just stared at his partner, took a second and said calmly, "That's supposed to be a crocodile!??". The others saw his drawing and there was a blast of laughter. Everybody was laughing so hard at his supposed crocodile. It looked more like a platypus or a green bush. Even he couldn't keep it inside him and laughed at his own horrible drawing. He said something in between his laughs which wasn't audible and sounded all the more hilarious. The six of them were just sitting there with that one ridiculous drawing in the middle. Their stomachs pained, cheekbones hurt and yet they couldn't stop. It was impossible to control that laughter. At that moment, they were laughing just like they did in their younger ages. That awkwardness vanished and they became the buddies they always were. That moment was not only marked with roaring laughter but also with patched-up friendship. As they finally stopped and took out another all-play card. The earlier drawer drew exactly what he drew earlier. His partner said, "Platypus!" They were right and then they went on another laughing fit.

(‘Monday Moments’ is a blog series wherein I write about an incident or a moment in a short paragraph. It’s not a story, but just a short description to express and explore the most common joys and also the uncommon miseries.)

  2. Made me giggle! My family still laughs about the time that my uncle was trying to draw "duck" in pictionary, and ended up drawing something with 4 legs!

  4. This is too funny!! I really hate the game pictionary because I really suck at drawing and always feel judged. It really is entertaining to watch people attempt to draw things.

  5. Sounds like a fun night. Im probably the worlds worst at this game, well the drawing part, Im ok at the guessing part but I do feel sorry for my team mates whenever its my turn to draw as Im hopeless I actually think that adds to the fun though. Its good to have a good giggle with friends.
